Our Director
Courtney
Clancy
Courtney has been involved in the dance world for 26 years. Courtney started her dance education when she was 2 years old at a local studio in her hometown. She quickly fell in love with the art and began taking as many genres of dance as she possibly could. At the age of 8 Courtney became a competitive dancer and stayed a part of her competition team until she was 18. Her team competed at the regional and national level, winning many overall high point awards. Courtney also won many special awards such as “most entertaining” and “best stage presence”.
Courtney began choreographing at the age of 16. Courtney was the captain of her High School Kickline/Dance team where she choreographed every routine. She also performed in the Long Island Ducks and Brooklyn Nets halftime shows.
While Courtney is trained in a vast variety of styles of dance, she specializes in Hip Hop, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. She continued her dance education by taking college level dance courses while teaching at studios on the island.
Courtney began at Dance Centre last year as a teacher/choreographer where the students quickly loved her style of dance. She became a huge asset to Dance Centre when she became our Company Director. She led our competitive team to several competitions on the island where her dances won overall placement and special awards.
This year, Courtney has been promoted to our Studio Director position where she is in charge of both our Dance Centre Company and our Dance Centre recreational students. She has become a huge part of Dance Centre and we know she will continue to make our dancers fall in love with the art of dance.
